POLICE OFFICER (PT)

Description

Skilled work involved with operating and driving trucks and construction equipment.

6040 Waterworks Road, Norfolk, VA

Work Hours

Monday - Thursday or Tuesday - Friday, 6:30 am – 5:00 pm;
4 days/wk.

Essential Functions

• Operates construction and water treatment maintenance equipment such as backhoes, tractors, trenchers, dump trucks, harvesters, etc.
• Transports heavy equipment, supplies, and materials to work sites.
• Serves and performs minor maintenance on equipment.
• Affords assistance with loading/unloading materials, job site tasks, and maintaining clean equipment and work areas.
• May supervise or direct employees.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.

Pre-Employment Testing

Pre-employment testing on the operation of a backhoe may be required.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
• Underground utility system experience preferred.
