Police Department 2026 Summer Bridge Student Assistant (Solano Campus)
About the role
Assist the Police Department supporting the front desk reception area, assisting customers and general office duties.
Job Duties
- Provide and ensure excellent customer service to the university’s community and the public at the front desk, receive and direct visitors; resolve inquiries regarding parking and other matters; and screen and route phone calls.
- Perform general office duties, including receiving and distributing mail, making copies, faxing, and filing, maintaining office supplies, files, reports, and forms.
- Delivers parking permits for all department requests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to exercise tact, courtesy, alertness, and good judgment in making decisions.
- Ability to learn and communicate parking rules and regulations, and other guidelines.
- Ability to read, write, and orally communicate effectively in a clear and concise manner.
- Maintain effective organizational skills.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance.
- Dependable; complete tasks in a timely manner; ready to work at the start of each shift.
- Demonstrate ability to quickly learn and apply campus rules and regulations related to work performed.
- Ability to operate in an environment that requires discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to take initiative in developing and improving skills.
- Must be able to perform work involving but not limited to carrying, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and walking to and from buildings across campus.
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License.
- Must successfully complete CLETS training.
