About the Role
The City of Wyoming is seeking an experienced Police Chief to provide strategic leadership for the Wyoming Police Department, one of Michigan's premier accredited law enforcement agencies. This executive role oversees a department of 103 sworn officers and 14 civilian staff members, playing a critical role in advancing public safety, strengthening community relationships, and fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and trust in a thriving and diverse community of approximately 78,000 residents.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for police department operations.
- Build strong partnerships with residents, businesses, and community organizations.
- Manage budgets, policies, projects, and operational initiatives.
- Lead and develop department personnel while promoting professional excellence.
- Represent the department through public engagement, media relations, and community outreach.
- Work closely with city leadership to guide departmental operations and support organizational goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, police administration, or a related field.
- Senior command experience at the rank of captain, deputy chief, or chief.
- Advanced professional leadership training such as the FBI National Academy or Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command.

Pay
$115,000 - $163,000 per year.
