About the role
The City of Huntington Beach Police Department is seeking qualified individuals to join the Police Cadet program. This is a part-time, non-permanent position designed to introduce young men and women to the field of law enforcement.
Responsibilities
- Work a variety of assignments throughout the Police Department, including Front Desk, Sub-stations, Training Unit, and Communications.
- Enrolled as a full-time student in high school or college.
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 (9 units if possessing 70 units of college level course work or Associate of Arts degree).
- Valid California Driver's License.
- No criminal convictions.
- Good moral and ethical history.
Requirements
- At least 18 to 23 years of age (up to 25 years of age).
- Currently enrolled in high school or college.
- Good driving record.
- No illegal drug use or possession within three years prior to application.
- No arrests or convictions for any criminal offenses within three years prior to application.
- No outstanding warrants of arrest at time of application.
Qualifications

Pay
The salary range is composed of seven steps. Merit step increases are based on satisfactory performance.
