Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood is the flagship casino resort of Hard Rock International, owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida. This world-renowned entertainment, gaming, and hospitality destination features a $1.5 billion expansion with 1,271 upscale guestrooms, a 42,000 square-foot Rock Spa® & Salon, a 13.5-acre recreational lagoon, 19 dining outlets, 20 bars and lounges, a 120,000 square-foot meeting and convention space, and a 7,000-person Hard Rock Live entertainment venue. Located on 87 acres of the Hollywood Seminole Reservation, the resort is 10 minutes from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and 30 minutes from downtown Miami.
Responsibilities
- Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and Seminole Tribe of Florida departmental policies and procedures.
- Work with Poker Director to establish the design and structure of the various poker tournaments offered by the Casino.
- Coordinate Tournaments with the Marketing Department.
- Train Dealers on the proper procedures to be followed for tournament play.
- Organize and supervise tournaments offered by the Casino as assigned by the Poker Director.
- Assist in developing procedures for the smooth and efficient operation of the tournaments offered by the Casino.
- Conduct market comparisons to ensure a competitive product.
- Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, and team members.
- Develop department members’ knowledge and skills through education, training, coaching, and corrective counseling.
- Demonstrate a commitment to responsible gaming and alcohol service by discreetly notifying management of concerns.
- Conduct personal behavior and select, train, coach, counsel, appraise, and retain direct reports who align with the Company’s Mission and Values.
- Mentor and assist in the development of Seminole Tribe members participating in the Tribal Career Development program.
- Ensure prompt and discreet notification of any observation of illegal acts or internal ethics violations.
- Develop and maintain team spirit and morale.
- Promote positive public and employee relations at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Actively promote tournaments and poker offerings via social media in a responsible and professional manner.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; seven (7) years minimum poker experience with five (5) years supervisory and two (2) years experience as a tournament manager or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Associates or higher degree preferred.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of “TDA” rules and procedures with demonstrated application in a poker tournament environment.
- Working knowledge of Bravo Tournament Software.
- Ability to prepare spreadsheets and documents using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Thorough knowledge of poker tournament games offered by the Casino.
- Must be willing and available to change shift, days off, and/or start time immediately upon effective date of employment/promotion.
Work Environment
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and taste or smell.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The casino environment is hectic, fast-paced, and often crowded and noisy.
- May be exposed to secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and constant public interaction.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties.
