About the role
Coordinate point of care testing (POCT) activities at Seattle Children's Hospital and regional sites.
Responsibilities
- Manage POCT activities at Seattle Children's Hospital and regional sites.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Train and mentor staff in POCT procedures and protocols.
- Perform quality control and ensure accuracy of POCT results.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize POCT utilization.
- Document and report POCT data accurately and timely.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical, medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
- At least two years of training or experience in non-waived testing.
- Eligibility for certification by an agency approved by the U.S. Department of Education or a National Commission for Health Certifying Agencies (NCHCA).
- A copy of a diploma or transcript of the highest level of academic achievement to be on record with Human Resources upon hire.
- Preferred clinical lab experience applicable to the current opening.
Qualifications
- Must have a current license or registration to practice as a POC Testing Coordinator.
- Must meet the educational and experience requirements as outlined by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in computer software relevant to laboratory operations.
