Duties and Essential Job Functions
- Provide inpatient consults and outpatient management of neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, spinal cord, TBI, amputee, or other disabling conditions.
- Perform electrodiagnostic testing, including EMG, nerve conduction studies, and ultrasound/neuro-sonography.
- Create and implement individualized rehabilitation treatment plans.
- Oversee and coordinate therapies including PT, OT, and speech therapy.
- Manage spasticity and dystonia, including Botox injections (baclofen pump management optional).
- Supervise and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in the PM&R program.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Educate patients and families on conditions, goals, and the rehabilitation process.
- Collaborate across disciplines to ensure holistic, patient-centered care.
- Participate in research, quality improvement, and educational initiatives within the department.
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
- Valid, unrestricted Texas medical license and DEA certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a rehabilitation setting is highly preferred.
