Job Summary
Assistant Pastry ChefKey Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Aid in the production of pastry items, ensuring adequate levels of mise en place
- Preserve quality levels of dessert items for pantry line production
- Support banquet functions, food production, plate-up, and other related tasks
- Understand and fulfill the responsibilities of other departments and collaborate effectively
- Adhere to and enforce objectives, policies, standards, and procedures set by the Executive Chef
- Inspect portioning, garnishing, and decorations meticulously
- Stay aware of scheduled and anticipated business needs
- Offer recommendations and suggestions for new menu concepts to the chef
- Ensure maintenance requests are promptly addressed
- Ensure the pastry area remains attended at all times
- Perform other specific duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- High volume experience
- Fine Dining experience
- Experience in hotel or private club settings
- Plated Desserts experience
- Bread Production experience
- Career-oriented attitude
- Flexible work schedule (weekends and holidays)
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Culinary Degree, Baking and Pastry, or Certificate (preferred)
- Servsafe Certified (not required to start)
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage daily tasks
- Proficiency in following recipes
