About the role

Delta E is an MEP engineering and design consulting firm based in Seattle, WA, founded in 2023. The firm focuses on collaborative partnerships with building owners and design and construction teams, emphasizing technical expertise, sustainability, and innovative thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Support plumbing design for various project types and deliver projects across multiple delivery models, including design/bid/build, design assist, and design build.
  • Design plumbing systems, including calculations of water, gas, sanitary/sewer, and storm loads.
  • Coordinate water, gas, and sewer connections with civil engineers and architects.
  • Develop project specifications and perform site evaluations.
  • Attend meetings with clients and project teams.
  • Create contract drawings from Schematics through Construction Documents.
  • Review project submittals for product data and shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and engage with contractors to find creative solutions during Construction Administration.
  • Establish design standards and criteria for projects, prepare calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Perform fire suppression system selection, prepare preliminary designs, and create performance specifications.
  • Proactively enhance technical quality by staying updated with emerging technologies, evolving building codes, and advancements in the industry.
  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment to produce integrated project documents, ensuring cohesive design strategies and solutions.
  • Engage in the development of tools and templates.
  • Manage projects efficiently, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and adherence to quality control processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum: 5-7 years’ experience in plumbing engineering within the construction industry
  • Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, and the Microsoft Office products
  • 5+ years’ experience modeling plumbing systems & compiling construction documents in Revit
  • Experience with UPC Appendix M Peak Water Demand Calculations
  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience with Seattle, King County, and WA building codes
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar related field of study, or equivalent work experience
  • Expert knowledge of Washington State and Seattle codes, sustainable design, and heat pump water heating system design
  • Experience designing and coordinating heat pump water heating systems
  • Experience designing and coordinating rainwater/greywater harvesting systems
  • CPD or CPDT preferred
  • FE/EIT or PE license preferred
  • LEED AP preferred

Qualifications

Pay

$90,000 - $125,000 USD per year (Seattle, US)

Schedule

Hybrid work model, with in-person meetings as needed once a physical office has been identified.
