PLC Programmer at Optimal CAE

About the role

We are seeking a PLC Programmer with 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Allen Bradley (Rockwell) PLC programming within industrial/manufacturing environments. Local candidates in Michigan preferred; start date within one week.

Responsibilities

• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix / CompactLogix)
• Work with RSLogix / Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk / Automation Connection
• Support production line automation, including HMIs, sensors, and drives
• Diagnose and resolve PLC, electrical, and control system issues on the shop floor
• Assist with system integration, testing, and commissioning

Requirements

• 2–5 years of Allen Bradley PLC programming experience (must-have)
• Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems in manufacturing
• Experience with HMI, VFDs, I/O, and electrical troubleshooting
• Familiarity with Automation Connection / FactoryTalk tools
• Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical/Mechanical/Control Engineering, or Automation

Nice to have

• Experience working in automotive or industrial production environments
• Exposure to ladder logic, structured text, and panel wiring
