What You'll Do
- Machine Operation & Setup
- Operate 5-axis CNC machines to manufacture complex aerospace components with tight tolerances.
- Perform complete machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, offsets, and workholding.
- Load, verify, and adjust CNC programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor machining operations and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and performance.
- Production & Quality
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and work instructions.
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Ensure all components meet aerospace tolerances and quality standards.
- Identify and document non-conforming parts in accordance with quality procedures.
- Process Control & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve machining issues such as tool wear, chatter, and offset discrepancies.
- Optimize feeds, speeds, and tool paths to improve efficiency and part quality.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
- Maintenance & Safety
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance (coolant checks, lubrication, cleaning).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all OSHA, company safety policies, and aerospace compliance standards.
- Collaboration & Documentation
- Partner with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues.
- Accurately complete job travelers, ERP entries, and production documentation.
- Aid in training and mentoring junior team members as needed.
What You Bring
- A high school diploma or GED (technical certification preferred).
- 2–5+ years of experience operating 5-axis CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Ability to independently perform machine setups.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam) and G-code programming.
- Experience machining aluminum, composites, or aerospace alloys.
- Knowledge of process optimization and continuous improvement practices.

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to perform repetitive and precision tasks.
- Ability to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required to perform job duties.
- Ability to communicate effectively, including talking and hearing.
- Ability to work in, on, around, and in proximity to large structures, equipment, and tooling.
- Ability to lift, push, and/or carry items up to 40 pounds as required.
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and equipment.
- Ability to work in and around tight or confined spaces.
- Ability to work in environments that may include exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and/or hazardous materials (e.g., carbon fiber).
