Responsible for creating, maintaining, and continuously improving CNC programs and associated documentation for 3 & 5-Axis machining of complex aerospace parts. Utilizes technical expertise to develop and implement machining and manufacturing processes to meet engineering requirements, taking ownership from program conception to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 3 & 5-Axis CNC programs using CAM software for machining complex aerospace parts in materials including modeling board, steels, aluminums, and composites.
  • Create complete work packages consisting of CNC programs, machining operation setup sheets, tool lists, and related documentation for CNC Operators.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to develop CNC programs and process flows that meet requirements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and machinists to develop manufacturing processes, including work instructions, sketches, and shop floor documentation.
  • Assist in developing manufacturing fixturing and tooling.
  • Work extended shifts and weekends as needed based on schedule or urgent requirements.
  • Provide shop floor support to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
  • Work with manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, and manufacturing groups to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce non-conformances.
  • Analyze and evaluate manufacturing methods to improve cost, operator safety, productivity, and quality.
  • Continuously improve production processes.
  • Maintain positive team relationships with internal and external customers and co-workers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior multi-axis experience programming for other machinists on multi-axis CNC machines.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or machining environment, preferably in aerospace or composites.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Strong spoken and written English communication skills to safely perform essential job functions, including understanding work instructions, safety procedures, and quality documentation.

Schedule

First shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM.

Pay

$25.74 - $35.98 per hour.
