Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of computer vision inspection systems and industrial IoT solutions
  • Develop and implement vision-based technologies for manufacturing quality inspection and process improvement initiatives
  • Support machine learning and data analysis activities using machine and sensor data
  • Contribute to proof-of-technology and proof-of-concept initiatives for digital manufacturing applications
  • Maintain awareness of new technologies and industry trends related to industrial automation, AI, and manufacturing innovation
  • Collaborate directly with plant floor teams to identify manufacturing challenges and improvement opportunities
  • Analyze customer and operational needs and align them with digital technology solutions
  • Support implementation of reliable and scalable solutions that improve manufacturing performance, quality, and safety
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, maintenance, and manufacturing stakeholders
  • Support issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives within production environments
  • Support integration and interaction between vision systems, machine controls, and industrial equipment
  • Work with manufacturing equipment controls and PLC systems such as Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Siemens, and/or Omron
  • Aid in data extraction, interpretation, and analysis related to machine health, equipment performance, and product quality
  • Support industrial automation and connected manufacturing initiatives across production environments
  • Support analytical processes and machine learning applications within industrial IoT initiatives
  • Assist with sensor data analysis including vibration, audio, and current signature analysis
  • Support predictive maintenance and operational monitoring concepts through data-driven methodologies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of machine learning models and digital solution performance

Profile

  • Hands-on engineering professional with experience in manufacturing technology, automation, computer vision, or industrial IoT environments
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced manufacturing and plant floor environments with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot technical and operational issues
  • Curious, proactive, and solution-oriented with a strong interest in emerging manufacturing technologies
  • Effective communicator capable of collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Systems Engineering, Data Science, or related technical field
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in manufacturing automation, computer vision, machine learning, industrial IoT, or related technical environments within the automotive or manufacturing industry
  • Experience working within automotive or manufacturing environments
  • Understanding of manufacturing equipment controls and PLC systems (Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Siemens, and/or Omron preferred)
  • Knowledge of computer vision concepts such as segmentation, feature extraction, image enhancement, camera calibration, classification, pose estimation, and/or deep learning techniques
  • Experience with industrial vision systems and technologies such as Cognex, Keyence, HALCON, Matrox, OpenCV, or similar platforms
  • Programming experience in Python and/or C++
  • Experience analyzing industrial machine or sensor data
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with AI / Machine Learning applications in manufacturing environments
  • Experience with predictive maintenance or industrial sensor analysis
  • Experience with vibration, audio, or current signature analysis
  • Exposure to industrial networking or embedded systems
  • Experience supporting proof-of-concept or innovation initiatives
  • Knowledge of industrial IoT architectures and connected manufacturing systems
  • Experience supporting manufacturing quality inspection systems
  • Familiarity with 3D vision technologies and deep learning-based inspection systems
