Platform Support System Technician(Onsite)

Responsibilities

  • Assemble computer systems using various hardware components.
  • Debug issues during computer system bring‑up.
  • Flash BIOS and install operating systems (Windows, Linux).
  • Install firmware and drivers, perform disk partitioning, configure networks, and troubleshoot related issues.
  • Socket CPUs and organize lab space, including network and power cabling, test‑bench and rack setup.
  • Utilize test and measurement equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers, and power meters.

Requirements

  • Primary Skills
    • Platform support and system board support.
    • Familiarity with computer/server hardware architecture.
    • Ability to debug system bring‑up issues and flash BIOS.
    • Experience installing Windows and Linux, firmware, drivers, and performing disk partitioning and network configuration.
    • Ability to socket CPUs and organize lab infrastructure (cabling, power, test benches, racks).
    • Knowledge of test and measurement equipment (DMM, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers, power meters).
  • Secondary Skills
    • Rework and soldering, including IPC soldering standards.
    • Understanding of computer hardware components (motherboards, CPUs, memory DIMMs, add‑on cards, hard drives, KVMs).
    • Ability to read electronic schematics, PCB files, and BOM data.
    • Experience soldering/desoldering SMT components, fine‑pitch IC packages, BGAs, connectors, and building custom cables.
    • Blue‑wire rework on multilayer PCBs.
  • Other Expectations
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to follow instructions clearly.
    • Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs and shift computers between racks.
    • Reliable transportation for a 100 % onsite role and daily commute.
    • Good attitude, communication skills, and willingness to learn.

Schedule

Regular Day Shift – Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.

Pay

Compensation will be determined based on the individual’s skills, experience, performance, internal equity, work location, job level, and relevant education or training. Additional forms of compensation may include performance‑based bonuses, sales incentives, or other variable pay.
