Platform Operations Analyst - Second Shift

About the role

The Platform Operations Team ensures FreedomPay’s production platforms and processes are healthy and perform to expected key indicators. The Platform Operations Analyst works with a team to maintain platform stability and availability.

Responsibilities

• Work a standard Monday–Friday shift from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM ET, while also participating in a rotating schedule that provides weekend coverage.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation to support 24/7 platform availability, including periodic off-hours and weekend coverage.
• Maintain live services through measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
• Collaborate with other team members to quickly determine root cause of any type of service degradation and look for key indicators of potential issues.
• Effectively communicate with third parties, partners, and internal teams regarding technical issues.
• Use acquired knowledge to suggest, edit, and write knowledge base articles.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to improve system reliability emphasizing reliability as a core value.
• Identify anomalies and escalate appropriately issues identified in application and system log files.
• Create new alerts to support the operations of FreedomPay production systems.
• Troubleshoot and remediate failed scheduled jobs.
• Document and refine internal policies and procedures.
• Actively adopt and incorporate AI tools and emerging technologies into daily work practices to increase efficiency, scalability, and business impact.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field is typically required.
• Previous experience (preferably 4+ years) in a similar role within the financial services technology industry, transaction processing, or related area is preferred. Technical experience in web-based platform environments with related dependencies between network, database, and application layers.
• Strong understanding of transaction processing concepts, payment gateways, and related technologies is highly desirable. Experience in supporting real-time transaction processing applications is an advantage.
• Proficiency in using and troubleshooting various Application Performance Monitoring platforms, infrastructure monitoring and log ingestion tools, such as Dynatrace, Splunk, SQL Sentry, and others. Experience in Microsoft SQL Server product stack is desired. Knowledge of API integration, data analysis, and reporting tools is an advantage.
• Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions in a fast-paced transaction processing environment. Experience with problem management processes, including post-incident reviews, to prevent recurrence of issues.
• Familiarity with risk management principles and practices in the context of transaction processing, including fraud detection and prevention.
• Willingness to stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in fintech and transaction processing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
• Knowledge of networking protocols, DNS, HTTP, load balancing, web servers.
• Experience with Azure Cloud.
• Experience with RunDeck Scheduling System.
• Prior experience utilizing AI-powered tools and technologies to improve productivity, automate routine tasks, and enhance business outcomes.

Pay

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday shift from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM ET, with rotating weekend coverage.
