About the Opportunity
The Platform Infrastructure Engineer II is responsible for architecting and automating scalable, multi-region Kubernetes environments that support critical cloud infrastructure. The role focuses on ensuring deterministic provisioning, observability, and resiliency of these platforms, facilitating developer productivity and stable operations. This position contributes to the reliability and performance of global systems by delivering robust infrastructure and automation tools.
Responsibilities
- Arcitect modular Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for regional and global Kubernetes clusters
- Packge infrastructure components using version-controlled manifests or custom Kubernetes operators
- Develop observability foundations using OpenTelemetry and VictoriaMetrics for metrics, alerts, and tracing
- Build disaster recovery tools for database backups, state replication, and cluster recreation
- Integrate and transition shared infrastructure away from legacy third-party systems
- Support and enhance local and cloud-based development environments in collaboration with software engineers
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience designing production-grade Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and managing Kubernetes environments
- Proficiency in building observability pipelines using OpenTelemetry and metrics platforms
- Understanding of multi-region scaling and high-traffic system architecture
- Ability to develop, debug, and support software application code alongside engineering teams
Pay Range and Compensation Package
For US-based candidates, base salary ranges from $95,000 to $171,000 per year, determined by experience, skills, certifications, and location. Compensation may include annual bonuses, equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
