Responsibilities
- Regular and predictable attendance, including logging in and out of time worked
- Complies with all company and safety policies and procedures
- Make flexographic/litho plates
- Responsible for the critical evaluation of all plates made and completes appropriate QA check lists
- Maintains Plate Logs
- Verifies information on Plate Envelope is correct
- Cleans and maintains platemaking room/screen room and equipment
- Maintains components-to-press schedules to understand priorities and mark completion of jobs or flags
- Coordinates plate priorities with Scheduling, Graphics Coordinator, or Graphics Supervisor
- Participates in continuous improvement / Kaizen teams
- Attends department meetings and internal training classes
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED is required; College degree strongly preferred, ideally related to the printing industry
- Print manufacturing experience preferred
- Technical expertise in flexo general printing processes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into actionable tasks
- Knowledge of color separations, press layouts, print specifications
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Radiuss job management software experience is a plus
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter with strong organizational and planning skills
- Requires physical ability to climb stairs, bend, sit, stand, walk, reach with arms, push, pull and use hands and fingers to feel and handle material for extended time frames
- Must have ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and regularly. Includes the ability to stoop, squat, crawl and kneel as needed
