About the Role
An advanced practice provider (APP) in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, will deliver patient-centered care in ambulatory and inpatient settings, collaborating with a multi-specialty team of plastic surgeons.
Responsibilities
- Practice as a standalone provider by managing weekly clinics
- Examine patients, diagnose, and determine surgical needs
- Review medical histories and plan treatments in consultation with physicians
- Prepare for surgery, including obtaining informed consent and scheduling procedures
- Perform postoperative visits and ambulatory procedures such as wound care and biopsies
- First assist in the operating room
- Support clinic activities and provide educational materials
Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s Degree in Nursing and ANCC certification or licensure as an advanced practice nurse, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program with NCCPA certification and state licensure
- Current BLS certification
- Credentialing clearance to work in the facility
- Advanced certification in a specialized area if required
