Responsibilities

• Set up and operate plasma cutting equipment to cut metal materials to precise dimensions and shapes
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine cutting requirements
• Adjust machine settings such as cutting speed, gas flow, and torch height to optimize cutting performance
• Monitor cutting processes to ensure the accuracy and quality of cut pieces
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the plasma-cutting equipment
• Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Proven experience operating plasma-cutting equipment or similar metal-cutting machinery
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Physically able to lift and move materials as needed
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding.

Pay

This is a Union position with a pay rate of $30.68 per hour as per the Union contract. New employees will receive:

• 80% of the full rate for the first six months of employment
• 90% of the rate for the next six months
• 100% of the rate after twelve months

Schedule

2nd shift Plasma Operator. Hours: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
