Plasma Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Safely set up, operate, and monitor fabrication equipment, including: Amada Turret Punch Press, Trumpf 3040 Laser, Wysong Shear, Amada Press Brake, Water Jet and Plasma Cutting systems.
• Interpret work orders, part programs, and blueprints to ensure proper machine setup and tooling selection.
• Perform complete machine setups, including program verification, tooling selection, and material matching.
• Understand and apply proper die clearance and forming techniques.
• Load and position various materials, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Measure finished parts using tape measures, calipers, and micrometers; make setup adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy.
• Accurately document production data on routing and inspection sheets.
• Operate Forklifts and overhead cranes in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with team members to support workflow and production efficiency.
• Identify and report equipment issues, quality concerns, or process deviations to the Department Lead, Production Supervisor, or Quality Control.
• Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards at all times.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. Training and experience in fabrication operations preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a drug test.

Qualifications

Must have a strong understanding of basic math and reading comprehension skills. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Must be able to perform basic calculations and measurements.

Skills

Proficiency in using a variety of fabrication equipment such as Amada Turret Punch Press, Trumpf 3040 Laser, Wysong Shear, Amada Press Brake, Water Jet and Plasma Cutting systems. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
