Plasma Center Nurse- LPN

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
• Perform medical history interviews and accept donors based on acceptance requirements.
• Conduct physical examinations and blood tests.
• Review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) results.
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for medical emergencies.
• Develop Center Physician’s standing orders and transport donors to emergency care facilities if necessary.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.
• Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
• Support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of EHS guidelines.

• Proficiency in medical procedures and protocols.
• Good judgment and decision-making abilities.

Pay

The U.S. based employees may be eligible for a U.S. Hourly Wage Range of $23.04 - $31.68.
