Plant Technician 1-4 (Maintenance)

This position is responsible for performing operations functions, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning of plant equipment under the direction of site management. The role focuses on maintaining equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet and promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, documentation, and assist in resolving problems discovered on shift.
• Conduct daily maintenance, overhauls, calibration, troubleshooting, repair/replacement, and removal/installation of plant equipment and systems.
• Make decisions and recommend appropriate repair techniques for plant equipment to peers, supervisors, and plant management.
• Conduct excitation system inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Operate material handling equipment proficiently.
• Develop and implement plant operating procedures.
• Understand the relationship of equipment to plant systems.
• Provide instruction and teaching to lower-level employees as needed.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental procedures, including Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety, and PPE.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of related experience.
• Satisfactory completion of Tier 2 within primary skill for position job performance measure.
• Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.
• If applicable, hold the required level of state license as recognized by the governing body of that particular state (MA, OH).
• Demonstrate computer-based skills.
• Demonstrate effective oral and verbal communication skills.
• Independent knowledge of troubleshooting.
• Successful completion of the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS/MASS) program.
