Plant Quality Manager - Aerospace Transparencies

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced, passionate, and driven Quality Professional to join our PPG's Aerospace business as the Plant Quality Manager - Aerospace Transparencies. This role plays a critical role in ensuring product safety, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction within our global aerospace transparencies portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain site QMS ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and corporate standards; lead certifications and audit activities.
• Ensure FAA/EASA Part 21 compliance for aerospace manufacturing; conduct internal audits and support customer/regulatory audits with timely CAPA closure.
• Implement AS9145 (APQP/PPAP) for aerospace programs including process validation, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Provide quality leadership for new product introductions and process changes; oversee nonconformance investigations and MRB activities.
• Conduct FMEA risk assessments, root cause analysis, and implement preventive controls to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor quality KPIs, drive data-driven improvements, and implement Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to reduce defects and variation.
• Lead and mentor quality team members while providing daily support to Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain for process control and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
• Ten (10) or more years of experience in a Quality role, preferably within aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA Part 21, and EASA Part 21 regulatory standards.
• Strong background in auditing, CAPA/RCCA, MRB, and cross-functional root cause problem-solving.
• Proficiency with aerospace quality tools: APQP, SPC, FMEA, control plans, inspection techniques (NDT, CMM), and statistical software (e.g., Minitab/JMP).
• Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, AS9100/ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CMQ/OE or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Experience with ERP/QMS systems (e.g., QAD, ETQ Reliance) preferred.
