About the role
This position is within Henkel's Consumer Brands business unit, which focuses on bringing high-quality Laundry & Home Care and Hair products to customers worldwide. The ideal candidate will contribute to innovation and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Drive quality strategy and objectives for assigned areas using appropriate reporting tools.
- Lead Good Manufacturing Practices and Risk Assessments, develop corrective actions based on incident investigations.
- Attend seminars and stay updated on industry developments.
- Maintain training materials and train associates in microbiology procedures and hygiene processes.
- Monitor quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report monthly on their status.
- Work with operations staff to define quality procedures and establish and maintain control and documentation procedures.
- Pest control oversight and management of the overall process and documentation.
- Effectively manage customer and supplier complaints and actively monitor supplier quality complaints and issues.
- Own reporting, trend analysis, and metric development.
- Take appropriate actions on identified trends.
- Develop and lead design solutions and influence operational solutions.
- Develop and maintain the quality strategy in line with KPIs and global initiatives.
- Raise awareness of customer requirements across the manufacturing site and lead cross-functional quality improvement teams/projects.
- Support global audit management including leading internal audits, and Hygiene audits (system, process, product, customer and external certification audits).
- Ensure compliance.
- Input requirements for the design of new plant systems.
- Verify and validate for hygienic design requirements and outcomes.
- Interface with R&D and others on new innovations, trials, and analytical method development.
- Lead the investigation of out-of-specification microbiological and related results.
- Culture and identify microorganisms and lead corrective action development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, biology, microbiology, or any other related field.
- Five or more years’ experience in an Industrial Microbiology Field, preferably with a CPG company.
- Experience in managing microbial laboratories is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Hygienic Manufacturing, Equipment Design to assist in troubleshooting plant hygiene issues.
- The identification of microorganisms using traditional and automated technology preferred.
- Knowledge of chemistry and ability to carry out test methods relevant to the department.
- Demonstrated influential leadership and collaboration skills.
