Job Summary
- Direct responsibility for the overall operation of the Memphis plant.
- Responsible for the Memphis Plant Fixed Assets (~290 million) Annual RPE budget of $14M; Annual Variable Cost budget exceeding $19M; and annual Capital budget varying from $4M to $5M.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for all 59 employees, including those in unions.
- Provides leadership, direction, and management for all aspects of the plant's manufacturing operations.
- Aids in creating the organization’s vision and growth strategies and executes business and operations plans to achieve revenue, profit, and performance targets.
- Ensures accountability for ~8 reports and manages activities to lead continued improvement in Operations, Maintenance, Human Resources, Engineering, Accounting, Purchasing, Quality, and Laboratories.
- Maintains a strong, working knowledge of all external regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and internal policies and procedures (including capital, accounting, purchasing, and HES).
- Manages business growth and integrates new programs with a strong change management focus.
About the Role
The Plant Manager (PM) oversees the Memphis plant, managing its fixed assets, budgets, and operations. Reporting directly to the PM are approximately 8 reports, covering various departments such as Operations, Maintenance, Human Resources, Engineering, Accounting, Purchasing, Quality, and Laboratories. The PM ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies, and leads initiatives for continuous improvement and business growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Memphis Plant Fixed Assets budget of $14M and the Variable Cost budget exceeding $19M.
- Oversee the annual Capital budget, which ranges from $4M to $5M.
- Ensure compliance with external regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and internal policies and procedures.
- Lead the development and execution of business and operations plans to meet revenue, profit, and performance targets.
- Provide leadership and direction for the plant's manufacturing operations, including Operations, Maintenance, Human Resources, Engineering, Accounting, Purchasing, Quality, and Laboratories.
- Support Plant Staff in managing activities and leading improvements in key areas.
- Manage the integration of new programs and support business growth with a strong change management approach.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Plant Manager or similar role.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control.
- Ability to manage a diverse team and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of HES (Health, Environment, Safety) policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Six Sigma and/or Lean methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a unionized environment.
