Plant Manager
About the role
MKB Company is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee our manufacturing facility. The role involves overseeing daily plant operations, managing production schedules, ensuring safety and quality, leading a team, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily plant operations to ensure the efficient and safe production of high-quality products
- Manage production schedules and coordinate material requirements to ensure timely product delivery
- Monitor plant performance to meet productivity, cost, and quality targets while continuously optimizing processes
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Foster effective communication between production teams and management to address challenges and improve workflows
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of production staff, supervisors, and technicians
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence through employee engagement and collaboration
- Conduct performance reviews and provide training to enhance skills and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Ensure adherence to staffing plans and manage scheduling to optimize production efficiency
- Ensure all products meet internal and external quality standards and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to identify, track, and resolve production issues
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Oversee the maintenance of plant equipment, machinery, vehicles, and tools to prevent downtime and reduce operational disruptions
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
- Manage inventory levels to ensure smooth production flow and prevent material shortages
- Monitor and manage the plant's budget, controlling costs and maximizing operational efficiency
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, safety, quality, and financial performance
- Develop strategies for cost reduction and productivity improvements
- Analyze plant performance and data to identify trends and opportunities for further optimization
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in plant management and environmental controls
Requirements
Strong leadership capabilities to motivate, manage, and develop high-performing teams, deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, production scheduling, and inventory management, excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with a continuous improvement mindset, outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with employees and management, in-depth understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance within a manufacturing setting, proficient in plant management software and production-related systems (ERP systems), Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred), at least 7 years of experience in plant management, production, or operations leadership, with a proven track record of improving operational performance, experience in the environmental control or manufacturing industry is highly preferred
