About the role
The Plant Engineering Maintenance Supervisor position offers an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. You will collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world and make an impact by promoting a safe and sustainable working environment, leading incident investigations, providing technical direction, and developing employees.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe and sustainable working environment through modeling safe behaviors and resolving safety-related problems.
- Lead incident investigations and WIMs reports, presenting resolutions to site leadership.
- Supervise and direct maintenance tasks to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
- Provide coaching and feedback to employees and utilize corrective actions to resolve conflict and inappropriate behaviors.
- Oversee Plant Engineering support functions such as custodial, buildings and grounds, stockroom, etc.
- Schedule, assign, and direct personnel in maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment problems as required.
- Evaluate completed assignments for adherence to correct procedures and quality of work.
- Lead, coach, and develop employees through direct supervision, floor presence, and recognition.
- Oversight of training completion, CMMS utilization, policy administration, regulatory compliance, and hiring processes.
- Represent plant leadership team in supporting initiatives across the plant.
- Support supervision coverage for alternative shifts, being on-call, and flexible work schedules for 24/7 operations.
Requirements
- Associate Degree or higher in a related technical field (verified prior to start)
- Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- OR Bachelor’s Degree or higher (verified prior to start)
- Minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- One (1) year previous leadership, supervisory, and/or management experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Experience with daily tier management process and improvement projects (Kaizens)
- Obtained CRL, CMM, CMRP, CMRT, CRE, or CAMA certifications
- Understanding of Environmental and Regulatory Compliance, NFPA, and OSHA & MSHA Standards (MSHA required for mining sites)
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status
- May include up to 10% domestic travel
- Relocation assistance may be authorized
