Plant Engineering Supervisor
About the role
This individual will be a member of the Guin Plant Engineering organization and will report directly to the Plant Engineering Manager. This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a safe, healthy and sustainable workplace through active and visible leadership.
- Provide direct supervision to assigned employees through visible leadership, coaching and training.
- Provide work direction for team to optimize resource utilization.
- Schedule, assign, and direct craftspeople in performance of tasks for maintenance of equipment.
- Drive Preventative Maintenance (PM) on time completion process for the site.
- Evaluate equipment and maintenance history to determine and establish appropriate Preventive Maintenance requirements, and/or to recommend Predictive Maintenance programs for optimizing effectiveness of maintenance procedures and maximizing equipment reliability.
- Participate in the selection of new employees.
- Evaluate employees’ performance and provide feedback.
- Complete administrative forms and reports to provide necessary, significant, and appropriate information relating to maintenance tasks and personnel actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military environment OR
- High School diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and Six (6) years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military environment AND One (1) combined year of supervisory and/or leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in an Industrial Maintenance-related technical field OR bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Microsoft Office, and Maximo proficient
Skills
- Ability to participate in a strong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) culture by following safety policies, identifying hazards, and engaging in continuous improvement.
- Ability to comply with corporate policies, procedures and security standards while performing assigned duties.
