About the role
KanPak®, a Golden State Foods company, is seeking a Plant Accountant to support financial operations at our Penn Yan facility. This role plays a critical part in cost accounting, financial analysis, inventory management, and month-end close, partnering closely with plant leadership to drive operational and financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain the Bill of Materials of Aseptic and Yogurt Products.
- Prepare the Manufacturing Order Variance report.
- Complete a daily update and report on the Product, Loss and Damage.
- Review Cost Center reports with management on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Calculate and update monthly yogurt customer pricing by compiling materials, packaging and freight invoices.
- Complete and manage the plant’s capital requests including recording engineering and maintenance labor hours as well as the completion of the capital roll forward monthly basis.
- Coding the corporate credit card statement to the correct cost center monthly.
- Identify, resolve and forecast inventory reserve on a weekly basis and complete the inventory reserve for month end.
- Complete the monthly Federal Milk Market report.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Completion of other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel required)
- Experience in food or aseptic manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High level of integrity, discretion, and reliability
Pay
$70,000 - $80,000 per year
Schedule
Shift Times: 8am-5pm
Days: Mon - Fri
Work Environment
Requires climbing ladders/stairs to access tanks and pumps.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires detection and differentiation of colors, sounds, and smells.
Work involves bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for prolonged periods.
Indoor/outdoor environment with exposure to water treatment equipment, chemicals, and waste handling.
