Key Responsibilities
- Document existing and planned GPON & XGS-PON infrastructure, producing detailed Visio diagrams.
- Identify and inventory network architecture and access elements for the Edge Planning team.
- Monitor network capacity, submit triggers, and forecast bandwidth growth to support relief planning.
- Design and propose capacity relief projects, ensuring feasibility, practicality, and cost effectiveness.
- Analyze complex LAN/WAN and customer network environments, selecting appropriate protocols and configurations.
- Resolve interoperability challenges across platforms, including email, file transfer, and multimedia services.
- Support acquisition and implementation of hardware, software, and subcontractor services.
- Lead or mentor lower-level engineering staff on technical projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in engineering or related field.
- 4+ years of telecommunications engineering or planning experience (OSP/ISP/Access).
- Recent telecom experience within the last 5 years to understand terminology and limitations.
- Proven engineering and planning experience.
- Proficiency with Visio and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate fluently with technical teams in Engineering, Sales, and Operations.
