About the role
Reporting to the Materials Planning Manager, the Planner Scheduler will oversee planning materials and production functions. This role involves planning, scheduling, coordinating, and approving product release to production planning systems based on material and capacity availability.
Responsibilities
- Check the possibility of order fulfillment based on available resources (materials, employees, equipment, etc.) and confirm orders.
- Prepare production plans and input planning data into the company’s integrated computer system.
- Monitor system accuracy on a daily/weekly basis, including general item data, routing, BOM, CFT data, non-consumed demand, and planned work orders.
- Monitor stock levels and handle stock differences.
- Advise non-exempt associates on day-to-day priorities of customer requests.
- Proactively monitor and address issues impacting performance to committed ship date (CSD), lead-time, response time, and inventory goals.
- Coordinate and manage high-visibility and/or important customer programs, including initial customer or product startup initiatives or large customer programs.
- Coordinate with the Master Scheduler to manage product life cycle and related materials availability issues.
- Drive process improvements inside and outside the Planning/Scheduling area.
- Provide input to management, reschedule, or interface with customer program management, master scheduling, customers, and production control to adjust production in response to design changes, labor/material shortages, backlogs, or other schedule interruptions.
- Assist inventory control, supply chain management, and material planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years of experience as a Planner Scheduler or in a similar role.
- Experience with Oracle MRP systems.
- Experience in production planning/scheduling and DOF (Direct Order Fulfillment).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn new tools/software quickly and work/multi-task under pressure.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
