Planner, Performance Marketing
Job Summary
The Media Planner, Digital Performance Media will own the day-to-day logistics in the planning, implementing and maintaining of Performance Media campaigns. They will drive innovation at the campaign level and cultivate key partnerships to deliver the best digital media opportunities to the client. This role works closely with Performance Media Activation teams, including the Analytics teams across PM and Horizon general market.
What You’ll Do
Strategy – 30%: Review Performance Media activation recommendations and contribute to creating a whole-is performance-focused media plan. Contribute to recommendations on where to invest client media dollars across the performance media channels. Apply learnings from performance data to media plans and collaborate with other internal channel stakeholders.
Campaign Management & Execution – 10%: Oversee trafficking and site tagging, ensure sites are enabled and functioning properly, QA all pixels. Issue specs documents and ensure all materials are received from creative agencies/channel teams. Oversee creation of campaign post-launch information such as screenshots, links and placement information to demonstrate proof of placement for clients. Advise on post-campaign reconciliation and billing.
Reporting & Analysis – 40%: Monitor and report weekly on biddable and direct channel performance, providing an active voice on optimization opportunities and challenges. Parse through large datasets, provide critical thinking and analysis, and draw conclusions and discover actionable implications. Collaborate with channel teams, including analytics teams, to aggregate data and ensure standardization across accounts. Provide data for dashboards/Excel trackers, ensuring accuracy and validity of data shown.
Relationship Management – 20%: Collaborate with Senior Planner or Supervisor to identify problems and recommend solutions. Keep Senior Planner and Supervisor updated on the status and timing of deliverables. Manage communication about performance goals and pacing. Engage and effectively interact with other Horizon departments, such as Business Solutions, Traffic, and Operations. Apply knowledge of current/previous clients' specific business and industry to enhance and further relationships.

Preferred Skills & Experience
- 1+ years previous digital media experience with a performance media background.
- Basic knowledge of advanced analytics and performance media.
- Familiarity with Digital Media Management Platforms (i.e. Prisma).
- Basic knowledge of marketing principles, analytics, and concepts.
- Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to discuss how those functions can or should be applied relative to the media planning process.
- Experience with third-party ad servers.
- Familiarity with biddable channels and partner direct.
