About the role

This role involves the development of work orders and preventive maintenance plans for implementation at a nuclear facility. The position requires working with station personnel to identify, create, and order parts for repair and replacement activities. This includes planning for various work packages, such as Design Change, Preventive Maintenance, and Corrective Work Packages, and defining the work standards for those activities across Mechanical, Civil, Instrument & Control, and Electrical disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive work packages and plan activities for nuclear plant operations.
  • Identify and analyze work order tasks required to implement preventive maintenance, modification, corrective, and surveillance activities.
  • Create work standards to support work packages and provide guidance to junior planners.
  • Create work packages for all disciplines, including generating weld data sheets in accordance with applicable codes and procedural requirements.
  • Conduct job walks and identify necessary materials and labor.
  • Provide technical coordination with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
  • Support outage planning and ensure regulatory compliance and configuration management.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: A minimum of 15 years of nuclear planning experience is required, with expertise in nuclear work package development.
  • Technical Skills: Deep technical knowledge of plant systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards (NRC, INPO, ASME, IEEE).
  • Experience using NAMS software is necessary.
  • Additional required skills include technical excellence, attention to detail, strong communication, analytical thinking, and collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a degree from a Trade School.
  • Experience at multiple facilities.
  • Background in operations, maintenance, or engineering.
  • Previous experience as a senior planner.
  • Familiarity with PWR/BWR systems and Maintenance Rule knowledge.

Work Location Details

This position is for multiple roles across different disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument & Control. Both onsite and remote opportunities are available. Candidates should specify their interest in onsite (Palo, IA) or remote work. One of the Mechanical Planner roles requires a background in stick, TIG, pipe, and structural welding.
