PLADS Application Developer (SmartCOMM)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Data Modeler, Advanced Template Designer, and Web Editor to join our dynamic team. This role requires a deep understanding of SmartCOMM Modules and Thunderhead/Smart Communication API's, with a focus on developing and implementing interactive communications.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the development effort by participating in workshops and building prototypes.
• Translates user stories into functional software within the IT environment.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on new feature technical design and requirements.
• Performs unit, integration, and performance testing of new product functionality.
• Participates in meetings with representatives from various business and IT units.
• Develops and implements business templates according to business requirements.
• Consolidates form templates, identifies common graphical elements, information blocks, layouts, and variable data requirements.
• Prepares XML data schemas and maps them to business data objects.
• Works collaboratively with the team to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
• Ensures adherence to quality standards and provides feedback on project progress.

Requirements

• Sound knowledge of SmartCOMM Modules - Data Modeler, Advanced Template Designer, and Web Editor.
• Strong knowledge in generating Interactive communications (Draft Editor, Data Capture).
• Good knowledge of Thunderhead/Smart Communication API's.
• Well-versed with preparation of XML data schema and their mapping to business data objects.
• Strong understanding of SmartCOMM/Thunderhead concepts and development.
• Education and experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related IT field; four or more years of SmartCOMM programming experience or related work experience.
• Experience and understanding of multiple programming languages and applicable applications.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $130,000. Offers are based on a variety of factors including education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation.

Schedule

This role may be hybrid or remote depending on your location within the continental US. If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, you will work in the office for at least 60% of the work week and from home for the remaining portion. If you live more than 50 miles from these locations, you will work remotely. Any requests to come to the office will be communicated in advance.
