Piping & Static Equipment Engineer III

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Piping & Static Equipment Engineer III to join a prominent LNG operation in Sabine Pass, TX. The position provides expert technical support for piping systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and fixed equipment, helping to optimize equipment integrity, troubleshoot complex issues, and support maintenance and project execution activities. The engineer will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Integrity, and external contractors to enhance plant safety, reliability, and operability.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for piping systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and fixed equipment.
• Optimize equipment integrity and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
• Support maintenance and project execution activities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Integrity teams, and external contractors.

Requirements

• Proven experience with LNG facilities or large‑scale industrial plants, especially in process and static equipment.
• Operations background in industrial or petrochemical settings.
• Strong knowledge of piping systems, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and related equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot, evaluate, and support maintenance and integrity activities.
• Excellent collaboration skills for cross‑functional and external partner work.
• Flexibility to adapt to variable work schedules and surge support projects.

Preferred qualifications

• Familiarity with Management of Change (MOC) processes.
• Prior onsite experience at large‑scale LNG or similar facilities.
• Certification in engineering or safety standards related to static equipment.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in LNG or large industrial plants.
• Experience supporting operations and maintenance teams in fast‑paced environments.

Other requirements

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule (8‑10 days per occurrence).
• Ability to work on‑site in Sabine Pass, TX (remote candidates may be considered for exceptional experience).
• Strong communication skills for coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
• Immediate availability for virtual interviews with a prompt decision timeline.

Pay

Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $80–$95 per hour.

Schedule

Work predominantly Monday through Friday with additional flexibility as needed. This surge support opportunity is expected to last 1–3 years.
