Piping Design Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Develop project takeoffs for weld count and materials.
• Develop bid packages for the materials required to fabricate the project and work with outside vendors to price materials and services.
• Coordinate with QA/QC Team to support drawing preparation.
• Develop pipe drawings and weld maps to include heat number tracing and welds.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Structural, and Process Engineering teams to ensure total package development.
• Design hydrostatic tests and supervise testing, including maintenance of test gauge calibration.
• Maintain all required code paperwork for each project.
• Travel to project sites to assist in the startup of fabricated equipment.
• Prepare purchase orders for successful vendors.
• Review project plan and schedule changes; recommend actions to ensure the project stays on time and on budget while meeting client specifications.
• Ensure project compliance with appropriate government regulations, safety rules, and company and client policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) degree.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience.
• Working knowledge of construction, industry codes, and standards (ASME/ANSI/API/NFPA/CSA codes such as ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, 49 CFR 192 & 195 preferred but not required).

Pay

$120,000 - $150,000 per year.
