Job Description
Handle PIP files from inception to conclusion, including pleadings, depositions, motion practice, negotiations, trial and appeal. Analyze complex legal and factual issues to develop and implement effective litigation strategies. Manage discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses, taking and defending depositions, and analyzing medical records.
Requirements
- Excellent academic credentials
- Outstanding written and oral advocacy skills
- Strong software/technological skills including competency in Word, Outlook and Westlaw
- Well organized, detail oriented, and capable of independently managing a caseload where work is time sensitive
- Ability to take full responsibility for files
- Directs support staff on clerical and administrative matters related to handling legal proceedings
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors
Experience
- Must have a law degree from an A.B.A. accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
- Must have an active law license to practice in Michigan and be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
- 2+ years of experience handling PIP litigation preferred
- Additional handling of first and third party claims for auto carriers is a plus
- Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law commensurate with level of experience
- Experience presenting and cross-examining lay and expert witnesses
- Experience working in a paperless electronic environment
- Strong automation/technological skills for lawsuit handling and courtroom presentation

Schedule
We offer flexible work hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with options like 8–4, 8:30–4:30, or 9–5. We do our best to support individual preferences, though schedules may be adjusted as needed to ensure strong coverage and teamwork. We also offer a hybrid schedule: team members work onsite four days a week and can work remotely one day a week
