Pilot in Command (Rotor Wing) – Anchorage, Alaska (Part Time)

Duties

• Pre-flight
• Ensuring the aircraft is equipped with all required systems and components for its assigned operations
• Ensuring the aircraft pre-flight inspection is completed as per the aircraft flight manual before each departure
• Ensuring safe operation of flight assignments in accordance with 14 CFR Regulations, this manual, Ops Specs, and Company SOP's
• Ensuring that a flight will not commence if a flight crew member is incapacitated from performing duties by any cause such as injury, sickness, fatigue, or the effects of any psychoactive substance
• Ensuring that the flight will not be continued beyond the nearest suitable aerodrome or heliport, when a flight crew member's capacity to perform functions is significantly reduced by impairment of faculties from causes such as fatigue, sickness, or lack of oxygen
• Checking and assessing weather and all applicable FAA NOTAMs when available
• Promoting fundamental Crew Resource Management (CRM) when working with other pilots and station personnel
• Participating in Operational Control tasks
• Maintaining currency with certification and flight experience, (i.e., medical certificates, check rides, recency of experience, etc.)
• Maintaining familiarity with Company Compliance Documents
• Maintaining communication with Logistics regarding scheduling, routing, passengers, and loads
• Operate the aircraft in accordance with Company SOP's
• Notifying the nearest appropriate authority by the quickest available means of any accident involving the aircraft, resulting in serious injury or death of any person or substantial damage to the aircraft or property
• Submitting a report to the designated local authority following an act of unlawful interference
• Keeping all assigned documents and manuals up to date
• Completing and maintaining the aircraft flight and duty logbook
• Ensuring that flight times are confirmed after each flight or at end of day
• Completing all post-flight duties as specified in the company operations manual, recording flight times and aircraft defects
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

• Be qualified in accordance with 135.243(c)
• Have at least 750 hours flight time
• 100 hours cross country, 25 hours of which are at night
• Prior commercial or instructional flying experience
• Possess a valid FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate
• Possess a valid FAA Instrument Rating and A type rating, if required
• Holds a valid FAA second class medical certificate

Physical Requirements

• Must possess physical dexterity and coordination to qualify for Federal Aviation Administration Commercial Pilot Certificate
• Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for up to twelve (12) hours per day and sit for up to eight (8) hours per day
• Must be able to perform non-rated crewmember duties during mission operations
• Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth
• Must be able to climb stairs
• Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print, maps, aeronautical charts, and weather charts
• Must be able to grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders
• Must be able to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools
• Must meet or exceed Federal Aviation Administration minimum visual acuity and hearing standards for first class medical certificate
• May be exposed to chemical mist, gas, vapors, ultra-violet, and infrared radiation
• May be required to lift up to 70 pounds to a height of four (4) feet and be required to lift up to 20 pounds to a height of seven (7) feet
• May be exposed to rapid or extreme temperature changes
• May be required to meet Night Vision Goggle Vision Requirements: 20/100 near and FAR sight correctable to 20/20, be able to focus Night Vision Goggle at minimum distance of 20 feet
