Pickling Exit Operator

About the role

The Pickling Exit Operator is responsible for all functions as listed below. Operation of this area must be understood in total with the focus of utilizing the equipment to meet all quality and productivity goals as outlined in our quality system. All work instructions are to be followed as outlined.

Responsibilities

• General overview of the LP
• General safety
• Lock out tag out
• ISO
• AS-400
• Crane training
• Forklift training
• Time sheets
• Time off request
• Accident/incident reports
• Product ID and parking
• Recycle program
• Serious misconduct policy
• LP objectives
• Operation of the Coil Pickling Line
• Sulfuric acid handling
• Nitric acid handling
• HF acid handling
• Machine sheet entry at the Pickling Line
• All items are defined under the Pickling Operator Work Instructions
• Other duties as assigned
• Participation in relevant continuous improvement programs

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Physical abilities

• Mobility in plant
• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, etc.
• Frequently required to make use of their hands for technical tasks
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Visual ability with or without correction
• Communication abilities

Health and safety requirements

• Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
• Follow Company safety rules
• Report the absence of or defect in any protective equipment or clothing to the Supervisor or Manager immediately
• Use or wear required equipment, protective devices or clothing: Safety shoes, Safety glasses, Hearing protection, Hard Hat
• Some areas may require additional PPE such as Respirators (requires being clean shaven to comply with company policies and OSHA Regulations), Fire Retardant clothing, Acid PPE
• Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy
• Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines
• Must follow all Environmental Policies and Regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
