PICC Team Nurse

About the Role

As our PICC Team Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. You will be responsible for the assessment, insertion, maintenance, and removal of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs) and Midline catheters in various patient populations (e.g., adult, pediatric, neonatal, depending on the facility).

The PICC Nurse works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based vascular access care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, insert, maintain, and remove PICCs and Midline catheters using advanced knowledge of vascular anatomy and sterile technique.
• Prevent infections and educate patients on central line access device care.
• Troubleshoot issues related to central line access devices.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide evidence-based vascular access care.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arkansas, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification, within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, within 12 months of hire.
• Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC) credential preferred or commitment to obtain within 1-2 years of hire.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of recent acute care nursing experience (Critical Care, ED, Medical/Surgical, Oncology).
• 1-2 years of direct PICC insertion experience utilizing ultrasound guidance strongly preferred.
