About the role
The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who partners with and advocates for patients/families/significant others to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment. The RN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Partners with and advocates for patients/families/significant others to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment.
- Functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing.
- Utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service.
- Serves as guide, healer, collaborator, teacher, leader and sentry.
- Collaborates with and guides care delivered by the inter-professional team.
- Is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Education: Graduation from accredited school of nursing; BSN required or must obtain within 5 years of hire. Proof of enrollment required within 6 months of hire.
- RNs with min. 2 years of acute care hospital experience may elect to forgo the BSN requirement and sign a Professional Certification MOU which must be obtained with 3 years of hire.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid Ohio RN license; Current CPR certification required at the time of hire.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of acute care hospital RN experience required.
- Excellent IV skills a must.
