About the role
Provides ownership and manages full-cycle physician & advanced practice provider recruitment and placement activities for their respective division or line of business. Responsible to the company at the LOB/hospital level to lead the identification, screening and placement of recruited and employed physicians and advanced practice providers. Building effective partnerships with hospital and operations team members is integral to success in this role. The selected candidate must reside in East Florida.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain relationships with facility CEOs, Physician Services partners and community practices.
- Develop, implement and execute a recruitment plan specific to each opportunity to ensure programs, plans, policies and procedures for recruitment, screening, selection and placement of physicians/providers are compliant with current recruitment standards established by leadership.
- Serve as communication liaison with market leadership, Physician Services, candidates and physicians.
- Plan and direct activities to carry out functions such as developing sources of qualified applicants, screening applicants, scheduling and conducting interviews, and overseeing quality check processes for proper candidate vetting and selection, checking references and background.
- Negotiate financial contracts and create physician spend proformas.
- Conduct activities with systems and databases to maintain accurate and comprehensive files such as candidate records, internal and external reports and correspondence.
- Coordinate physician facility/community site visits to include tours of the community(s) and housing options, meetings with market administration, key medical staff members and tours of the facility(s).
- Serve as liaison with candidate and market leadership throughout the entire recruitment lifecycle.
- Interface with hospital CEOs and Physician Services operations team to determine physician staffing needs.
- Identify and evaluate trends on healthcare recruitment, including location conditions, economic conditions and competitive institutions to develop innovative strategic plans to respond to these trends.
- Develop and maintain contacts with educational institutions, residency and fellowship programs and other sources of applicants.
- Represent the company at association meetings and physician training programs.
- Determine Internet online recruiting strategies for attracting and recruiting candidates.
- Utilize Salesforce/Optimum to maintain job opportunities, candidate information, referrals, site visit activity and provider signings with a commitment to data integrity.
- Maintain data on recruitment activities, applicant flow, interviews and recruitment results to maintain accurate and comprehensive files such as candidate records, internal and external reports and correspondence.
- Engage with embedded residents for the purpose of data collection and retention.
- Prepare and analyze statistical reports and other data to monitor candidate flow, selection and turnover.
- Work with corporate legal department to assure adherence to guidelines, rules and regulations under guidance and direction of VP.
- Participate in the training of new staff members.
- Develop proforma for placement and responsible for contract preparation, negotiation and execution.
- Build effective working relationships with field operations and key stakeholders within the practice (e.g., physician lead, practice manager).
- Partner with service line leaders by preparing reports, reporting on recent recruitment activity and formulating strategies for recruitment efforts in the market.
- Maintain accurate and timely record keeping within Optimum to reflect current state of opportunity and candidate contact record.
- Commit to managing applicant queue including both internal (e.g., teamwork referrals) and external applications (e.g., autofeed vendor applications).
- Conduct an opportunity overview to define and articulate qualified candidate selection criteria and understand the subculture of a practice in order to properly outline job description.
- Maintain frequent touchpoints with active candidates to provide best-in-class provider recruitment experience.
- Positively represent HCA brand and work to position organization as employer or affiliated health system of choice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent; 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
