Department Overview

The Ohio State University Department of Radiology is experiencing significant growth across research, education, and clinical missions, positioning it as a national leader in imaging innovation and care delivery. Key initiatives include:

  • The Center for Imaging Excellence (CIE), which accelerates translational research in MRI, CT, and PET imaging, supported by multidisciplinary teams.
  • A focus on artificial intelligence, supported by Ohio State’s designation as an ACR Recognized Center for Healthcare-AI (ARCH-AI), as well as advancements in theranostics and advanced imaging technologies.
  • Ongoing renovations to support state-of-the-art infrastructure and collaborative team science.
  • Strengthened educational programs through residencies and subspecialty fellowships, supporting diverse pathways for trainees in diagnostic and interventional radiology.

Clinically, Radiology is expanding to meet growing patient demand and support the Wexner Medical Center’s Impact 2035 strategic vision. Investments include:

  • A recently opened 820-bed inpatient hospital tower.
  • A biomedical research tower and the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center.
  • New ambulatory care centers in New Albany, Dublin, and Powell, alongside established imaging sites across the region.

Division Overview

The Division of Neuroradiology focuses on MRI and CT interpretations of the brain, spine, head and neck, and image-guided procedures of the spine and neck. The division enjoys strong interdisciplinary collaboration with referring specialty services and supports:

  • A busy Comprehensive Stroke Center.
  • A Level 1 Trauma Center.
  • A large NCI-Designated Cancer Center.

Neuroradiology faculty provide outstanding teaching to fellows, residents, and medical students, serving as teaching faculty for a thriving Neuroradiology Fellowship, Diagnostic Radiology Residency, and Integrated IR/DR Residency training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the day-to-day clinical operations of the Neuroradiology Division, providing high-quality patient care and supporting clinical and imaging operations.
  • Conducts and provides clinical instruction, lectures, seminars, and related educational offerings within OSUWMC and at regional and national levels.
  • Collaborates with faculty and leadership to develop and refine medical student, resident, and fellow training opportunities.
  • Serves as a mentor and sponsor for residents, fellows, and faculty in the Department.
  • Supports clinical and translational research activities and innovation, including serving as PI or Co-I in grants and/or clinical trials.
  • Serves on Department, OSUCOM, or OSUWMC committees to represent the research and innovation interests of the Department.

Requirements

  • M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent.
  • Board eligible or board certified in Radiology (ABR, ABOR).
  • Completion of subspecialty fellowship in Neuroradiology by time of appointment.
  • Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.
  • 3+ years of post-fellowship attending experience (preferred).

Schedule

Evening shift: 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM, 7 days on, 14 days off rotation schedule. Weekend and holiday coverage is limited and equitably shared among faculty.
