Physician Pediatric/Newborn Hospitalist - Southwest Michigan
About the role
The Children’s Hospital at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI is actively seeking a BE/BC full-time Newborn and Pediatric Hospitalist.
Responsibilities
- Covering Level One newborn nurseries at both Bronson Methodist Hospital and Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.
- Primarily a Newborn Hospitalist role with part-time coverage with the Pediatric Hospitalist service line.
- Attendance at high risk deliveries, newborn stabilization and assessment, daily rounding and management of stable newborns.
- Supervising Advanced Practice Providers and training residents and medical students.
- Maintenance of CPR and NRP.
- General pediatric inpatient care and sedation services.
- Clinical teaching of pediatric, family medicine and emergency medicine residents with 24/7 resident coverage.
- Maintaining a fully staffed PICU and NICU service separate from the hospitalist services.
- Academic affiliations as well as research opportunities are available.
- Integrated EPIC EMR platform utilized system-wide.
Qualifications
- BC/BE in Pediatrics (American Board of Pediatrics).
- Graduate from an ACGME accredited program.
- Current unrestricted or pending Licensure in the state of Michigan.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and quality patient-centered care.

Bronson Children’s Hospital is a designated children’s hospital recognized by NACHRI and offers a full range of pediatric subspecialties. Provides support for the following pediatric subspecialties: Cardiology, Hematology/Oncology, GI, Endocrinology, Surgery, Neurology, Urology, and more. In-Hospital Specialists, Specialty Services, and Pediatric and Neonatology Support Services. Bronson maintains a Level III Perinatal Center, 34-bed Pediatric Unit, a 45-bed NICU and an 8-bed PICU with a 4-bed step down unit.
