Physician Outpatient Pediatrician - Southwest Michigan

Description

Portage Physicians PC and Bronson Primary Care Partners Pediatrics is currently seeking a full-time board certified/eligible Pediatrician to join their well-established and collaborative outpatient practice in the Kalamazoo area. Portage Physicians, PC is a primary care group with more than 60 providers, including Pediatrics and Family Medicine. Candidate will work along-side eleven Pediatricians and five APPs.

Position Details

• Full-time position with a 4-day work week
• Benefits include 8 weeks of vacation, a competitive salary and strong benefits package
• Call is approximately 1 week in 10 with nurse triage as first call; weekend clinic approximately 1 weekend in 10
• Outpatient only

Requirements

• BC/BE in Pediatrics (American Board of Pediatrics)
• Current unrestricted or pending licensure in the State of Michigan
• Medical degree and 2 years of direct or intern experience required
• Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration
• Must maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to providing compassionate and quality patient-centered care

Responsibilities

• Diagnose illnesses and prescribe as well as administer treatment for patients suffering from disease or illness
• Examine patients and obtain medical histories
• Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests
• Counsel patients regarding preventive healthcare, hygiene and diet
• Provide medical patient care by interviewing, examining and treating clinical patients in order to meet their medical needs
• Educate patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients and families
• Determine which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs
• Determine level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments
• Exercise final medical judgment in all issues of health care
• Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients
• Order studies, tests and ancillary services
• Document all services in patient medical record
• Review on a regular basis long term cases that require ongoing medical attention
• Consult with Medical Director and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues
• Participate in process improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by the hospital or clinic requirements
• Oversee mid-level medical staff as assigned as well as nursing clinical staff
• Assist in the resolution of complaints, requests and inquiries from patients
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations
• Demonstrate commitment to providing outstanding customer service to all customers in a manner reflective of our mission, values and customer service standards
