Physician - Emergency Medicine - Fellowship Program Director
About the role
The Division of Emergency Ultrasound within Ochsner Health’s Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a motivated academic emergency physician to serve as Program Director for the Advanced Emergency Ultrasonography Fellowship. This position is ideal for an ultrasound fellowship-trained emergency physician with a passion for program development, mentorship, and advancing point-of-care ultrasound education.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and administration of the fellowship, with active support from existing division faculty.
- Oversee comprehensive ultrasound education and resident rotations.
- Establish and maintain a robust infrastructure including ultrasound machines, billing practices, and quality assurance workflows.
- Develop and implement educational curricula for the fellowship program.
- Mentor fellows and residents in the field of emergency ultrasonography.
- Participate in clinical rounds and case discussions to enhance the fellows' clinical skills.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate emergency ultrasonography into clinical practice.
Requirements
- Fellowship-trained in Emergency Medicine and ultrasound.
- Active or eligible for EMBA certification.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine.
- Completed an accredited ultrasound fellowship program.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in emergency medicine.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring.
Skills

Pay
The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
