About the role

The Department of Emergency Medicine at West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine in Bridgeport, WV is currently seeking academic Emergency Medicine (EM) physicians at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. The WVU Department of Emergency Medicine offers a variety of practice locales and types across its diverse group of clinical sites.

Responsibilities

  • Care for patients at WVU Medicine J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital (690-bed, Level I trauma and tertiary-care referral center)
  • Care for patients at United Hospital Center
  • Care for patients at St. Joseph’s Hospital
  • Care for patients at two WVU Urgent Care centers
  • Care for patients at WVU Student Health
  • Care for patients at WVU International Travel Clinic
  • Care for patients in an internal locum tenens practice
  • Teach and mentor residents and fellows
  • Participate in research projects related to stroke, traumatic brain injury, emergency medical and pre-hospital services, event medicine, tactical medicine and disaster planning, medical education, population health, telemedicine, domestic partner violence, and point-of-care ultrasound

Requirements

  • An MD or DO degree (or its foreign equivalent)
  • Eligibility to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license
  • Completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program
