About the role

CHKD Health System operates Virginia’s only freestanding, full-service children’s hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, along with pediatric practices, multi-service health centers, and urgent cares throughout southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. As a member of CHKD Medical Group (CMG), you will work closely with the full range of pediatric specialists and surgeons at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters. CMG employs over 120 board-certified pediatricians and nurse practitioners across 19 primary care practices, all committed to quality, excellence, and child-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate pediatric care in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions in children.
• Build strong connections with patients and families, fostering a supportive environment.
• Participate in rotating on-call duties as needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including subspecialists, nursing staff, and on-call triage.
• Ensure patient care aligns with best practices and medical guidelines.
• Engage in continuing medical education and professional development.

Requirements

• Board eligible or board certified in pediatrics (if board eligible, certification must be obtained within 2 years of residency completion).
• Valid Virginia medical license.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
• Ability to build excellent rapport with children and families.
