Physician (Contract) Salaried

About the role

At CHKD Medical Group (CMG), pediatricians work closely with a wide range of pediatric specialists and surgeons at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters. CMG employs over 120 board-certified pediatricians and nurse practitioners in 19 primary care practices.

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality, compassionate pediatric care in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions in children.
• Building strong connections with patients and families, and fostering a supportive environment.
• Participating in rotating on-call duties as needed.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including subspecialists, nursing staff, and on-call triage.
• Ensuring patient care is aligned with best practices and medical guidelines.
• Engaging in continuing medical education and professional development.

Requirements

• Board eligible or board certified in pediatrics (if board eligible, certification must be obtained within 2 years of residency completion).
• Must possess a valid Virginia medical license.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care.
• Ability to build excellent rapport with children and families.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
• Completion of an accredited pediatric residency program.
• Current Virginia medical license.
• Passing scores on the USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 exams.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build rapport with children and families.
• Knowledge of pediatric medicine and treatment protocols.
• Experience with patient-centered care and teamwork.
