Physician - Child/Adolescent Psychiatry
About the role
Ochsner Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join its growing Psychiatry & Behavioral Health team. The position offers full-time and part-time outpatient clinic opportunities, telepsychiatry and remote work options, and the chance to supervise and teach psychiatry residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for children and adolescents with a wide range of behavioral, emotional, and developmental conditions
- Work within multidisciplinary teams including APPs, Psychiatry PharmD, clinical psychologists, social workers, counselors, and care coordinators
- Develop and expand child and adolescent behavioral health programs, including integrated care and specialty clinics
- Practice within Ochsner’s state-of-the-art Neurosciences Center of Excellence, opening in 2026
- Tailor practice interests across child and adolescent psychiatry subspecialty areas, including mood disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, trauma, and comorbid medical conditions
Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- A current, unrestricted medical license in Louisiana
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Experience in treating children and adolescents with a variety of psychiatric conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Experience with mood disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, trauma, and comorbid medical conditions
